State Senator Victor Torres Endorses Tom Keen for Orlando City Council 1
ORLANDO – Tom Keen, candidate for Orlando City Commissioner District 1, announced an endorsement today from Democratic State Senator Victor “Vic” Torres. His Senate District 15 covers all of Orlando’s District 1 south of 528.
“I know Tom will be a great commissioner. He doesn’t fight the battles of the past, he is thinking ahead to what we will need in Orlando,” said Senator Torres.
Tom Keen became a successful businessman in the aerospace simulation industry after a 21-year military career, including serving as a Naval Flight Officer. Sen. Torres is himself a Marine veteran who served in Okinawa, Japan.
“I am honored by Senator Torres’ endorsement, and his commitment to my campaign.” said Keen after receiving the endorsement.
This is the sixth recent endorsement for Keen, who has received similar praise from the Democratic Veterans Caucus of Florida, Ironworkers Local 808, and SEIU Florida. Keen’s campaign announced an endorsement Monday from the workers of the Central Florida AFL-CIO, and yesterday from State Representative Amy Mercado, whose House District 48 includes portions of Orlando’s District 1.
Ballots have been mailed out and early voting begins at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections (119 W. Kaley, Orlando 32806) from October 30 to November 5. Election Day for the City of Orlando is November 7, 2017.
