Tom Keen is running to serve Orlando as our next City Commissioner for District 1. Tom’s technical oversight and budgeting experience make him qualified to effectively serve our Orlando community for all residents, well into the future. Tom has met and spoken to thousands of voters in District 1, and successfully qualified by petition to waive the ballot fee. Tom has been married to Laura Keen for 28 years. They have two grown children and live in the Laureate Park neighborhood of Lake Nona.
Tom Keen is a decorated 21-year military veteran, a former Naval Flight Officer, and successful businessman in the high-tech aerospace training and simulation industry. Tom has been active in several veteran-service organizations and has served on the Mayor’s Veteran Advisory Council. He has also participated in both Leadership Orlando and the Mayor’s City Academy.
Tom Keen is the clear choice.
District 1 voters have a choice between future-thinking leadership and remaining in the past. Orlando cannot afford leaders who will not move our city forward.
- Both of my opponents came out against public transportation funding to relieve traffic congestion.
- Both of my opponents are against a minimum-wage increase that would support working families.
- Both of my opponents are against Mayor Dyer moving the confederate memorial earlier this year. What message does that send about our city to residents and visitors?
District 1 deserves better. As your next commissioner, I am committed to showing up, listening to you, and keeping your concerns out front at City Hall. Unlike the incumbent, you will not have to ask City staff to know what I am doing.
